Verona airport is 12 km far from the city centre.
A fly bus is provided by ATV (Azieda Trasporti Veronesi) and runs every 20 minutes from the airport to the main railway station ‘Verona Porta Nuova’, which is near to city centre and the conference centre (see ‘If you arrive by train’). The bus ticket can be bought on board for 6€.
You can reach Gran Guardia Palace also by taxi, located outside the Arrivals hall, at the cost of 20€.

The Main Train Station is ‘Verona Porta Nuova’
If you arrive by Car:
From motorway A4 Milano-Venezia:
Exit ‘Verona Sud’ and follow the traffic signs ‘Centro’. Distance is about 4 km.
From motorway A22 Brennero-Modena:
Exit ‘Verona Nord’ and take SS 12 direction ‘Verona Centro/S.Lucia/S.Massimo’ then follow the indication ‘Verona Centro’. Distance is about 10 km.
Part of the city centre is a restricted traffic area (Zone a Traffico Limitato, ZTL area) and car access is allowed during specific limited hours of the day. Hotels located into the ZTL can provide their guests with a temporary transit permit, if needed and requested.
Please keep the hotel bill in case you need to challenge a parking ticket.
Timetable for free access to the ZTL:
Monday-Friday from 10. 00 am to 1.30 pm, from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm, from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays: from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm.

There are two systemts to pay for parking:

Prepaid parking tickets can be purchased at any newsstands, tobacco shops or bars and must be displayed inside the car after scraping the 5 symbols related to: year, month, day, hour and minute when you park.
(ii) Parking meters www.amt.it/images/pagamenti/parcometri_giu_2013.pdf
Tickets from self-service machines located in the Green Area (ZTL – Limited Traffic Zone) and in the old town Red Area (Corona Area: San Zeno, Veronetta, Cittadella, Borgo Trento and Pindemonte) can be purchased and displayed inside the car. Coins from € 0,10 to € 2,00 are accepted and depending on the coins inserted and the fare in force in the area, a ticket of minimum 30 minutes can be issued. The parking meters can also issue urban bus tickets.
ATV-Azienda Trasporti Verona runs urban public transport. A single ticket (1.30€) can be bought either at the tobacconist or on board (1.50 €).
A daily ticket (4 €) can be purchased at any tobacconist.
